For us one of the landmarks at The Central Market is Providore, just looking at everything in the displays gives you the feeling of being a grinning little kid, sticky-ing up the glass with your grimy mitts. A chocolate fountain tends to do that to your mind, think Gene Wilder and the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We struggled to decide what to choose for sweet treats as we are also a huge fan of their Apple Pie (Give us time we’ll blog it) , which if you havent had it , you need to get to know it! Seriously. We both love lemony flavors so we picked the Lemon Cheesecake from the cabinet. A classic topped with Lemon Curd but with a fairly savoury creamy section. The combination of the super sweet lemony top and the savoury bottom gets it just right. No sugar comas. If you want to share something with a sweet friend or lover on a Friday after China Town you could probably go halves and still be happy. Halves is sexier after all!! xoxo
In a footnote, when you order tea at The T Bar Central Market we wish you would have Chai. Ask for brewed, so they dont serve you that nasty powder stuff. It has much more flavor, brewed Chai is served with drizzles of honey and a cinnamon stick. Combine it with a Providore Lemon Cheesecake??
